Monsters, Inc. is happy feel good
5 second plot: To power up their world, monsters have to scare kids. Because the screams are like fuel. One day a kid accidentally enters their world. And that's a big no no. Now the best team in monsterworld, Sulley and Mike, have to figure out how to resolve this problem.
5 second review: Funny, suspenseful, feel good, great story and magically drawn (well, maybe not really drawn). An amazing movie. For all ages. Well, maybe mostly for kids.

Wet Hot American Summer is just for fun
5 second plot: It's the last day at a summer camp in the 80's in wet hot America. It's a story about love and friendship. A story not bothered by any logic or structure what so ever. It's just for shits and giggles.
5 second review: This is experimental funny stuff. It doesn't work all the time and it was not always my cup of tea. But there will definitely be an audience for this. And they will find it hilarious. I heard that Anna Kendrick is a fan. She's probably right. There is no doubt that everyone involved had a lot of fun making this film.

Amores perros is heavy shit
5 second plot: This movie is actually three movies in one. The stories come together in a car crash scene. There are two forbidden young lovers. The girl is the boy's sister-in-law. There is the gorgeous famous young woman who 'steals' a family man from his wife. She gets hurt badly in the crash. And then there is the dog whisperer. He's like a hobo with a shotgun. And it's all going down in Mexico City.
5 second review: Is this depressing or what? My god, there does not seem to be very much light at the end of the tunnel. I like to be left with an entertained feeling after a movie, not with a feeling a truck just ran over me. But a whole bunch of people really really like this film very much, so I will shut up about it.

In The Mood For Love requires one's complete attention
5 second plot: A young man and a young woman who live next to each other both think their spouses are cheating on them. They spend a lot of time together trying to understand what is going on. But in doing so they dangerously balance on the thin line of taking it too far themselves.
5 second review: What a beautiful picture. The camera work is pure art. And that recognizable tune... There is an-artist-that-knows-what-he's-doing at work here. If you are a romantic soul, this movie is to die for.
