Fear the Walking Dead Season 2 tries to be original

5 second plot: Spoilers ahoy! Travis, Madison and co try to find a safe place, a new home. They start their quest on Strand's cool boat. He's got a place in Mexico. When that doesn't work out, the group falls apart. People die, people kill. The new reality they live in, isn't a pretty one. Zombies are often not the main problem. People are.

5 second review: The stupid things these people do... it's a miracle they're not all dead. There's a lot of talking, a lot of heartbreak and a little bit of action. This action (and the gore that comes with it) is often very good and very original (floating zombies, a crab snack zombie, killer dogs,..) but there's not a lot of it. So if you came for the action, know that you will have to sit through 90% of talking too.

Fear the Walking Dead Season 1 Episode 6: The Good Man (season finale)

5 second plot: The Manawas and Salazars are getting the hell out of Dodge. But not before they get the whole family back together. And that means taking on the soldiers. With a little help from some friends. The stranger that saved Nick's life tags along. And he might just be their ticket to safety. Because he is prepared.

5 second review: This is one awesome episode. It's definitely not cool that our survivors leave a whole bunch of people to die just to save a few of their own, but it sure did result in good TV. The fights are great, there are lots of zombies, shocking images, toe curling tension and the one thing our friends of The Walking Dead haven't thought about yet.

Fear the Walking Dead Season 1 Episode 5: Cobalt

5 second plot: Apparently the soldiers are up to something and tough guy Daniel is going to go get medieval on someone’s ass if he doesn’t get answers quickly. Nick is in the detention center and he’s lucky some stranger decided to look out for him. Liza is in the central hospital helping out. Travis convinces the soldiers to take him there but they get overrun by walkers. And Alicia and Chris are having a little bit of fun.

5 second review: This Daniel character is no tough guy. I didn’t believe it for one minute. Which is a big problem because the entire episode relies on me believing it. There was no need for the ridiculous torture. There seem to be a whole lot of zombies in the vicinity of the town but we’re still not seeing any of them (well, just one).

Fear the Walking Dead Season 1 Episode 4: Not Fade Away

5 second plot: The military has put a fence around the town. The people who are inside the fence are safe. When Madison takes a peek outside, she sees a whole bunch of dead people. Not only infected ones. A doctor comes to check up on everyone. The sick get taken to a central location. They will probably not return.

5 second review: This episode focuses on a lot of things that I don’t care about one bit. I don’t care about the flashing light on the other side of the hill, about the son with his drug problem, or about the other son with his stupid camera,… I want walking dead folk. And I didn’t get to see one this episode. Not cool man! The threatening atmosphere is still pretty neat though. These military guys are too cool for school.

Fear the Walking Dead Season 1 Episode 3: The Dog

5 second plot: LA city is totally in chaos. The cops are still trying to get things under control. There are already a couple of zombies mingling with the crowd. Travis is trying to get home. The hairdresser and his family tag along. The electricity is almost gone. Zombie neighbors are attacking. The son and the mom start to get the drift of what's going on. When the army gets involved dad thinks everything's going to be okay. Sorry to have to break it to you dad...

5 second review: There's still a lot of focus on the family situation. It's time to start shifting the focus to the zombie apocalypse. Well, we do get a cool head-shot and the zombie moan is very present thanks to an old zombie lady next door.

Fear the Walking Dead Season 1 Episode 2: So Close, Yet So Far

5 second plot: Travis and Madison are beginning to realize just how serious the situation is. Their first priority is to gather all of their kids and then they are getting out of the city (to the desert) and away from people (good call). But they run into some problems on their way and get separated.

5 second review: This is probably how something like this would really go down. Nobody knows anything and slowly it just gets more and more out of control. And then there's no stopping it. We didn't see a lot of zombies in this episode, but we did get to see mom's first kill. Good job, mom!

Fear the Walking Dead Season 1 Episode 1: Pilot

5 second plot: It's the start of the Walking Dead zombie outbreak. In LA. Nick is one of the first people to see a zombie. And live to tell about it. No-one believes him, because he's a drug addict. He doesn't even believe it himself, he thinks he's going insane. His mom and sister just want him to get better. His step-dad tries to figure out what might have happened.

5 second review: After 5 minutes I already knew this spin-off is going to be great. The pilot takes its sweet time to get going, but I loved the fact that you can slowly but surely feel shit hitting the fan real hard. The dramatic focus is completely on the worried family (with the addicted son and all), they don't know what's coming. But we do. And it's going to be awesome.
