Memories of Murder is surprisingly free spirited
5 second plot: A serial killer is brutally raping and killing young women in a town in South Korea. A special detective from the big city is working together with the local detectives to find the killer. They have a lot of suspects, but can't find the evidence to link any of them to the crimes.
5 second review: The really clumsy and back to basics ass kicking detective work is often very funny (the way one cop always jumps up and kicks everyone in the face) but at the same time really sad (they also kick the ass of a mentally challenged young fellow). It's a very open minded film. Which I didn't really expect from a South Korean production.
