Blade Runner is extraordinary

5 second plot: Deckard is a blade runner in a futuristic Los Angeles. He has to track down and kill four replicants.

5 second review: It all looks a bit retro and the story moves along way too slow for a modern audience, but it's still very awesome and mega cool. This is not only thanks to the extraordinary visuals but also because of the interesting ensemble of actors. They all look great. If possible, you should try to see this movie on a big screen.

Das Boot is probably as realistic as it can get

5 second plot: This is the story of the men working in a German U-boat in World War II. We get an insider look at all the difficulties they have to deal with. There are several occasions where they almost get blasted to the bottom of the ocean. But between the battles, it's not exactly a picnic neither.

5 second review: There is no doubt about it that this is a must see classic for all film fans. If you're claustrophobic, it's not going to be an easy watch. The movie gives you a terrifying look at the horror and randomness of a gruesome war like WWII. It's so well done, that you will be grasping for air together with the men that are really running out of it.

Thief is cool

5 second plot: Frank is very good at cracking safes. He is dreaming of a normal life (with wife and kids and all) and the only way he sees that happening is by scoring big and fast. So he lets himself get involved with the mob. They are very interested in his skill set. And they talk him into a plan that will make him rich really fast.

5 second review: This is a really cool safe-cracker movie. The main character is one of those bad-asses that has flaws, but nonetheless you are rooting for him big-time. And it pays off. The last 15 minutes of this movie are awesome. This is what going out with a bang is all about.

Dressed to Kill has its moments

5 second plot: A woman is brutally murdered in an elevator. Another woman catches a glimpse of the killer. And now the killer is after her.

5 second review: This is a really slow movie filled with unnecessary scenes. Probably to cover up the fact that there isn't very much to tell. But the core material (the 20 mts of 'real' story) is very good: suspenseful, sexy and shocking.  It's probably a must see classic, but for a modern audience it looks a bit weird. Like the giant bush (80's style) in the first scene.

Airplane! is off the charts funny

5 second plot: Ted Striker runs after the love of his life. She's a stewardess and he follows her on a plane to Chicago. The pilot and co-pilot of the plane get sick. And now it's up to Ted to save the day. He knows how to fly a plane, but due to a war-trauma, he's too afraid to try.

5 second review: The jokes come at such high speed, they are slapped around your ears one after another. They are all outrageously stupid, but brought with amazing straight faces. I can watch this movie all day non-stop and still cry with laughter at the end of the day. This is a true comedy classic.

Life of Brian is one of those must see comedies

5 second plot: From the day he is born, Brian is mistaken for being the son of God. The more he tries to convince everyone he isn't, the more they think he is.

5 second review: It's a crazy old movie, but the comedy is classic. You have to have seen it. There's simply no way around it. So hop to it.

The Brood is definitely weird

5 second plot: Frank's wife is following intensive psychiatric therapy (something experimental). Frank thinks the psychiatrist is a fraud and tries to prove it. His biggest concern is his daughter. He doesn't want to let her go near his wife anytime soon. Because he thinks she's hurting her. And then some very weird shit starts happening.

5 second review: It's old school, but it's still decent. It's mysterious, tense and it's made to be as disturbing as possible for the viewer. You have to be a bit open-minded (it's partly a creature feature) and very patient (not very much happens in between the core scenes) to really enjoy this movie.

Starcrash is a gloriously cheap rip off

5 second plot: Stella Star and her team have to stop an evil count from carrying out his evil plan. They have to travel through the galaxy to look for clues and run into a whole lot of unfriendlies while they're at it.

5 second review: It's a cheap ass Star Wars rip off. The dialogue and special effects are so bad that it's laugh out loud funny from time to time. But the actors play it straight. That's the beauty. David Hasselhoff is in here with awesome hair. There's a hilarious smart ass robot. And the star of the movie is the gorgeous Caroline Munro. She is running around in tight bikinis like there's no tomorrow.

The Driver is mega cool

5 second plot: Cowboy, a.k.a. The Driver is a getaway car ... ahem... driver. He's the best in the business. A dirty cop tries to set him up. The result: lots of cool car chases. Now I know where Ryan Gosling got his mad driving skills from.

5 second review: This guy doesn't even wear a seatbelt while driving like a maniac. He's that cool. He doesn't even blink when he's being shot at (while driving like a maniac). He does some weird crazy shit though (crazy '70s shit). At one point he totally destroys a dudes car just because he doesn't want to work with him. You coulda just said so man. And what's up with this weird van the cops are driving?

Mork & Mindy Season 1 Episode 1-3

5 second plot: Mork is an alien who’s been sent to earth to observe us. He ends up living with Mindy who will try to teach him how to blend in. Mork has been to earth before. That previous time he met the Fonz, who tried to teach him about dating. It didn’t work out well.

5 second review: This is the perfect platform for a comedian like Robin Williams. He can do lots of voices and make a big fool of himself. You can tell he's having a blast. The humor is a bit simple (from back in the day) and the visuals did not withstand the test of time. But if you're looking for old school fun, this could be your thing.
