The Loft is not a solid remake

5 second plot: Five friends start sharing a loft. They use the place to meet women. Without their wives knowing anything about it, of course. But then they find a dead girl in their preciousssss loft. Since there are only five keys, one of them has got some explaining to do.

5 second review: I liked the original Loft a lot more than this one. Visually it looks kinda cheap. But the main problem is the casting. A lot of important players just don't fit their part. Especially the dead girl. Marie Vinck was perfect for that part in the original. The twist in the end is still solid, but it goes on for too long (that was also the case in the original movie).

The Flash Season 1 Episode 2: Fastest Man Alive

5 second plot: Barry gets to save lives and be a hero. Like saving people from a burning building for instance. He's so fast no-one notices what happens. On his 'normal' job he's got to investigate a robbery. Apparently there's another not so friendly meta-human at work (one that can duplicate himself) who wants a rich and famous scientist dead.

5 second review: I love the team behind the flash. They are very complementary and it's great to see them have fun. You know, with him being so fast and all. It's becoming a pattern that the bad guys have to die at the end of the episode. I guess they haven't yet figured out how a prison would work for these meta-humans.

Stretch is interesting

5 second plot: Stretch needs to come up with $ 6,000 by the end of the day or he will get his ass whooped  big time. Or probably even get himself killed. He figures that as a limo driver the only chance he's got is to score a big tip from a rich customer. And this might be his lucky day. Well, maybe not really.

5 second review: There's some seriously crazy shit in this movie. I even think I saw a little bit of Chris Pine's ball sac. Yuk. And how about this line: 'I have a better chance at shitting out a full grown giraffe than come up with 6 000...'. The movie is quite interesting. But Chris Pine's character gets a bit annoying really fast. The story loses its grip on reality and that makes it a bit less fun.

Werewolf Rising is terrible

5 second plot: A girl goes back to the town she grew up in. It's been 20 years but everything still looks the same. Two criminals escaped from prison. And then something with a werewolf.

5 second review: Terrible. Just terrible. Cool poster though.

Wrong Turn 6: Last Resort is terrible

5 second plot: Danny inherits a big hotel in the woods. He decides to take a look and makes sure to bring lots of friends. So the hillbillies in the woods have enough people they can kill, I guess.

5 second review: After 5 minutes you know what you're getting yourself into. A beautiful naked girl, a guy with a hideous face, an arrow through naked girl's boyfriend's face and her head chopped off. The killings are cool, sure. But the movie is terrible, really. Especially the dialogue. And the make-up.

John Wick is mega-awesome

5 second plot: When a couple of thugs kill John Wick's dog, he goes after them with furious anger. But one of the thugs is the son of a high profile gangster. So now John has to kill a lot of henchmen to get to the one he wants.

5 second review: Keanu Reeves is awesome. You don't fuck with him. He is elevated to a new level of coolness in this movie. Wait, now that I think about it... it's not really a new level. He's been here before. If you're looking for a straight up hardcore action flick: this is the one you want to see.

The Salvation is horribly tough

5 second plot: It's 1871. A man is happy to see his beautiful wife and son again after 7 years. On their way home the son and wife are killed. The man kills the killers. That's only the first 5 minutes of the movie. Apparently one of the killers that bit the dust is the brother of the baddest ass in town. And now he's thirsty for blood.

5 second review: The things that happen to this poor guy... it's just horrible. And it just keeps on coming. This is a tough watch. But it's definitely worth watching. It's really well done. Even the sets are eye popping. And Eva Green... She doesn't say one word, but she owns every scene she's in.

The Big Bang Theory Season 8 Episode 5: The Focus Attenuation

5 second plot: The guys want to invent something spectacular. Like a Back To The Future 2 hoverboard. To be able to focus they go on a science retreat (in Leonard and Sheldon's apartment). But they get distracted by everything. The girls go to Vegas. But Penny finds out she has to study for her job. So she can't party like the other two.

5 second review: It's hilarious when they start babbling about stuff that doesn't really matter one bit. Too bad the drunk girls are not very funny. But the morning after makes up for that.

The Walking Dead Season 5 Episode 1: Sanctuary

5 second plot: Last season ended with the group locked up in Terminus. This season starts with them getting ready to break free. But they don't really stand a chance. And then Carol arrives, practically blows up the place and takes control. With a little help from some walker friends.

5 second review: I had to look past the fact that they do seem to have a little bit of luck here. But I guess that's part of the deal of survival. This episode is legendary. And nasty. It starts off as a creepy slasher horror movie. It's scary as hell. And then we get an awesome explosion, a big herd, burning zombies, people being eaten,... and then, when it's all over... one of the most beautiful moments of the entire show.

Automata is seriously bleak

5 second plot: It's 2041 and the world has turned into a big radio-active desert. Only 0,3 % of the world's population survived. These survivors created robots to help build walls and mechanical clouds to protect them from the radiation. Now these robots are becoming self-aware. And the humans are getting nervous.

5 second review: It's a grey, dirty, rotten future we are headed for. But at least we didn't fuck up our environment ourselves this time. The robots and the future are well done. Antonio Banderas is also great: he gives it all he's got. There are several great opportunities to take the story to the next level by focusing on the interesting robots but instead the attention switches to the uninteresting company bad guys. That's a shame.
