In Fear is never original
5 second plot: Boy meets girl. Boy asks girl to go to a festival with him. On their way there they (well, he) plan to spend the night in a romantic hotel. They get horribly lost. After a while they realize someone might be playing a game with them. They are correct. And seriously screwed.
5 second review: It's sometimes scary, but never original. Only the ending. But that's just plain stupid. I didn't care what was going to happen to the main characters. That's never a good sign. That should be the red line through a story like this: caring that nothing bad is going to happen to the good guys.

Oldboy is sick
5 second plot: A man is locked away in some sort of hotel room for 20 years without knowing the reason why. When he gets out, he is seriously pissed off and wants revenge. And maybe a reason for his lock up.
5 second review: The brutal fight scenes are pretty cool. The love affair feels awkward. The story's got a lot of loose ends and a bunch of things just don't make any sense. But I could have lived with that. However, the ending is so horribly ridiculous that it wipes all that was (a little bit) good about this movie completely from the table.

The Walking Dead Season 4 Episode 5: Internment
5 second plot: Sick people start dying and that creates a very dangerous melting pot in the sick-bay. Hershel does what he can. A large group of zombies gets through the fences. Rick and Carl deal with it. And the last shot of the episode is the Governor, looking at the prison inmates from a distance.
5 second review: This was a very dark episode. The prison does not seem to be a very safe environment anymore. I do hope they kill the Governor quickly, because I was already sick of him the last time. He already had more than enough screen-time.

Patema Inverted is a boring beauty
5 second plot: Patema is a very curious young girl living in an underground comunity. On one of her secret missions to a forbidden place she falls in a deep shaft and ends up in another world. Only this world is upside down for her. And she's upside down for them.
5 second review: It's a beautiful story about all the things that really matter in the world and it's told with a great eye for detail. Too bad it's a bit slow and not the big adventure it could have been.

12 Years a Slave is one of those films
5 second plot: Solomon Northup, a free black man living in New York is kidnapped in 1841 and sold as a slave. He has to deny who he really is in order to survive. The things he has to endure are gruesome beyond imagination.
5 second review: The horrible injustice is almost unbearable to watch. It's unbelievable that human beings where capable of doing these horrific things to other human beings. To put it in other words: this film really got to me. It's not the most cheerful film to watch, but it's a must see. A lesson in history.

Thor: The Dark World is great fun
5 second plot: The Dark Elves are back after a couple thousand of years and want to release some evil red blob when the 9 worlds align, thus destroying the universe. Thor comes to the rescue. His human friends come to his aid.
5 second review: Now that's what I call a fun movie. Sure, not everything adds up (or adds up way too simple), but in return we get spectacular fights and a whole bunch of great laughs. The first movie was too serious (and too plastic), this one is more relaxed. I loved it.

Our Universe is really... big
5 second plot: 50 minutes of watching pretty pictures of our solar system mostly and a bit beyond that.
5 second review: As an adult it is nice to get the overview again from time to time. Well, I think it is anyway. The movie is okay, but it's nothing new. They could had made it more exiting with a bit more 'real' and up to speed data about recent space exploration and things to come (like the moon station).

The Walking Dead Season 4 Episode 4: Indifference
5 second plot: Rick goes out looking for food with Carol. He confronts her with the fact that she can't go back, since Tyreese will kill her. They run into new people. But the newbies don't make it. The other group (that ran into the herd) finds the medicine but they have a though job getting out in one piece.
5 second review: This was a welcome change: two groups going out, running into crazy stuff, finding new people, seeing nature take over the world,... Nice.

Last Vegas is not very funny
5 second plot: A bunch of old timers get together in Las Vegas because one of them is getting married. With a woman (less than) half his age. And well, they party like it's 1959.
5 second review: I laughed a couple of times. But most of the time I didn't. In the first couple of minutes he asks the girl to marry him at a friend's funeral. That's sadly not funny. And there are plenty of moments like these in the movie.
IMDb score: 6,8/10

About Time is beautiful
5 second plot: Tim finds out that the male side of his family can travel through time (for real). He uses this ability to get himself a girlfriend. And after that he tries to make the world a better place. But it's not as easy as you would think.
5 second review: If you want to impress your girlfriend, this is the movie you want to watch with her. It's a charming, funny, lovely, beautiful, moving story that figures out a way to avoid bad vibes and focuses on the good things in life. And it gets quite complicated. As time travelling often does.
